9 October 06: Middlesex Fells, Skyland Trail
Columbus Day is traditional time for leaf peeping, and the weather is
summery and beautiful, so I spent some time tromping around the Fells
with a camera. Mostly I followed the Skyland Trail clockwise from
Sheepfold Meadow, with a detour on the Cross-Fells trail (cutting off
the loop down to Wrights Tower) and the Reservoir Trail (to get views
of the water). Rather than writing a detailed description of the
hike, I'll just post the pictures by themselves -- this is what the
Fells looked like today.
