Drove to the Fells with Rich Folk.
Park at tiny parking lot on Fellsway East, north of Malden.
Stay close to the road to pick up the Rock Circuit trail,
south to Boojum Rock.

Me at Boojum Rock, first looking south towards Boston, and then
looking north at the Fells.

Rich at Boojum Rock!

Purple asters and yellow goldenrod all over the place. Some nice
redcap mushrooms too, but not the wild coral shapes that I saw last
week.

Arrival at the reservoir.

A little panorama of the reservoir from the southwest looking northeast.

Rich at the reservoir overlook.

More arty shots of the reservoir. There's a cormorant somewhere in
there, but he's probably pretty hard to spot.

Reality At Arm's Length.

This is the "covered reservoir" and now you know as much about it as I
do. It looks like a meadow, but with these big green vents sticking
out of it, and other hardware that implies there's a big space
underneath there, somewhere.

From there we went back down the blue blazed trail to the parking lot,
and then went for Pinnacle Rock on the other side of the Fellsway.
This is a little rocky outcrop on the way there, which struck me as
very cute and idyllic, somehow.

On top of Pinnacle Rock, looking south towards Boston. The view is
great but there are several cases worth of empty beer cans strewn
around here, probably lunch money for anyone willing to carry in some
trash bags empty and carry them out full.

The view south from Pinnacle Rock, including that blunt radio tower
that appears in several other pictures. It's right next to Pinnacle
Rock, there's probably a trail to it, but we didn't look ... rather
hang out on this fine rock.
Total time about 2.5 hours, not hurrying at all.
